The Xbox 360 HD-DVD USB DVD player has a power usage of 1 watt when "off". The electricity usage is 6 to 7 watts when spinning a HD DVD in the drive.

Of a side note, unfortunately it doesn't seem that drivers for "xbox 360 hd dvd memory unit", at least on the Vista x64 64bit version I'm using.
